In this unique tour, you will discover 2 objects of cultural heritage:
1. The largest palm grove in Europe and the most beautiful in all of Spain! Declared an object of the UNESCO World Heritage in 2000. 2. The Huerto del Cura garden is a private historical garden, which was declared a national art garden in 1943 and is considered the cultural heritage of the Valencia community.
The grove looks natural, but it is grown artificially. It was created by Arabs in the tenth century. When creating it, a complex irrigation system was used, some of which are used today. The Unerto del Cruntian garden contains an amazing variety of types of trees, palm trees, cacti and flowers. The park has a pond with multi -colored fish, as well as peacocks and ducks. Animals can be fed (food is sold in a store in the park).
The pearl of the park is the imperial palm tree. Its name comes from the name of the Empress Elizabeth of the Austrian ('Sissy'), which Capellan Castano dedicated the name while visiting the fruit garden in 1894. The memory of this visit is also a bust of the Empress, located in the northern wing of the imperial palm.
The shoots of this copy of the palm tree usually develop at the base of the tree, when it is from 10 to 15 years, but in this case they formed when Palm was more than 30 years and at a very unusual height of 2 meters. Very far from the roots, where there is less juice.
Both visits consist of independent walk and study of natural attractions. The leader of the group will accompany you during a walk, if you wish. This quiet and calm place is not accompanied by a guide. Nevertheless, you can use the audio guide for free by downloading it on your phone (in English, Spanish, Valencian, French and German).
The total duration of the tour is 2.5 - 3 hours: 30 min the road there, 30 minutes back. Visiting palm grove for 30 minutes, transfer to the botanical garden for 10 minutes, visiting the botanical garden of Huerto del Cura 1 hour.
